Do you like this picture? Not bad at all - I think. Nice morning sun in Warsaw. I love these long shadows and misty air.
There is one thing that puzzles me, whenever I am seeing this - Do you see, on the other side of the street, those poor catalpas - planted in small containers? There is plenty of them on that street - more than hundred... I guess... Do u think they have chance to survive there?
*Do THEY (misterious they) do such things in your city?*
I love your picture and I think all big cities do strange things with plants in pots. I am sure they almost never survive which is very sad.
ReplyDeleteDelighted to add you and thank you for adding French Essence.
ReplyDeleteI guess they wouldn't survive the winters if they were planted directly into the soil? But anyways, they could give them bigger pots!
ReplyDeleteI'm starting up a new meme for Fridays - Blooming Friday - it would be great if you would like to participate with one or two pictures of blooming plants. I thought it would be nice to share eye-candy for the week-end... Welcome!

The mysterious "they" do odd things with plants in my city too. I doubt those catalpa trees will last very many years in those pots. Maybe they will change them when these trees become too large for the pots.
ReplyDeleteI can imagine that they will all fall over like bowling pins as soon as a strong gust of wind blows along the avenue.
ReplyDeleteThey must be happy though, as the vast Catalpa biginoides in my neighbours garden has been leafless for weeks.

It is puzzling! Strange, too! They certainly are thrillers, now were are the spillers and fillers to go with them! Gail
ReplyDeleteEwa, when I llived in A'dam I dug up the cement blocks in front of my flat and dug out the sand and put in dirt and planted a garden. I don't know what's with the pots. Here we have small crepe myrtles all up and down the streets downtown. Or pistachio, which brings fall colors interestingly. Your Warsaw trees are probably bonsai trees now,no? I have a gingko in a pot. I'm sure it's a bonsai gingko now. Oh, well.
ReplyDeleteI really DO like this photo! It has great composition, light and focus.
ReplyDeleteI think city planting is often very strange but those trees look particularly odd. I'm surprised someone has not come along with a truck and rescued a few for their own garden!
ReplyDeleteVery nice photo...
