Winter gardens worth to bother?

Winter gardens can truly cheer us up when everything around is dull or even covered white with snow.
If you are still reluctant whether winter gardens are worth to bother, have a look at the pictures below and let me know what you think.

Do you remember great garden tour we had at the sloping garden?

Pictures of this airy light and beautiful winter garden were taken in December when everything was already dull and brown, short before snow appeared. By the way do you know that snow is like sex?

  1. Who would not love a garden like that?
Beautiful! I have plants all over my house year round and can't imagine not having them...but it sure is not like having a sun room.

  3. What beauty in your home. My goal was to have plants blooming all winter. So far, I have several amaryllis blooming.Mine are in the basement windows, and not displayed as nicely as yours.
    Have a Merry Christmas,

Aw, the joys of a protected space for growing those things we love. I rely on the cyclamen for winter beauty. I think I would forego the protected space for the experience of winter as it is. Though I AM in CA! :)
