Have you ever worried about planting amaryllis bulb (naked lady or belladonna)? I mean, that you don't know how to do it properly?
I think in this office, I have visited yesterday, they didn't worry too much.
Look at this beautiful flower....
... would you ever guess, that it's only sticked to a tee mug and given some water? ...
It was the office of an gardening shop "oh, you know, it started to grow in the package and we decided to give it a chance..."
Do you have unusual experience with amaryllis?
Interesting that you call an Amaryllis a Naked Lady. I always called Godiva Lilies Naked Ladies. (It's probably the lack of foliage on each of them that leads to the universal nickname). I don't have experience with an amaryllis, but I've always wanted to try.
ReplyDeleteTracy, it seems pretty easy to try. Before I saw this, I thought it's kinda more complicated process...
ReplyDeleteI tried growing them with stones to stablize, and water. Potted in soil is better, feeds and saves the bulb for another time after a rest. They are easy. Leave the neck and a third of the bulb sticking out of the soil and water when dry.
ReplyDeleteWe call Lycoris squamigera Naked Ladies.
I have one similar and it is amazing and still growing...I love how it is just in a cup of water...I will try this next yr...saves lots of time
