Do you also have Leveret (young hare) tradition? Here - in some regions - leveret brings gifts for Easter - this tradition is not as strong as Christmas gifts, usually presents are minor and rather for kids.
I learned about this tradition as adult from somebody raised in Poznan (Poland). Leveret? What Leveret - I was surprised to learn about such sweet tradition so late - so many lost years :) Present doesn't have to be big, just something small and surprising.
I wish YOU Happy Easter! Lots of joy and some nice, refreshing surprises!

Happy Easter Ewa.
Here we also have a hare delivering beautiful eggs (chocolate) mostly for children. In out countries they have rabbits do it. It's fun to see that Holland and Poland have Easter hares. ;-)
We don't have Hares but we do have Easter rabbits (Easter bunnies) - and chocolate eggs for children though adults get them too!
Wish You a Very Happy Easter.
Although I come from a different religious background, but thanks to Satellite TV and internet, the religious differences have dissolved and my daughter insists on celebrating Easter. The Hare delivering gifts will have her pleased beyond imagination.
We call our hare tradition the Easter Bunny. The Easter Bunny usually brings chocolate candy and hides colored eggs for the children to look for. A fun tradition. Happy Easter to you.
Yes, the U.S. has the Easter Bunny - we make up baskets full of colored hard boiled eggs and candy - lots of pastel colors! It's interesting to hear that you have a similar celebration. Have a wonderful Easter!
The Easter bunny hides eggs and leaves a basket with chocolate bunnies and sometimes a small gift or two. It's interesting to hear what happens in other countries too.
In my early (preschool) childhood I lived in Lowicz and every Easter sunday there was a hunt in the garden for presents an Easter hare left there. The garden was very large, so it was not easy to find the present, especially that the Easter hare apparently had an ability to climb trees, too. But it was tons of fun and the kids bugged the adults to not spend too much of a time at the Easter brunch table, which might have cut down on some overeating. :-)
My husband is also from Poland. He had never heard of the Easter Bunny until we got married (I am an American.)
It is interesting to find out that there is also a similar Polish tradition that his family had also never heard of :)
Have a very Happy Easter!
Happy Easter - peace and hope and blue skies for you!
