Barbed wire garden deco would be the last thing I would think of.

Here in Texas we use barbed wire for lots of things... most people know better than to play with it. Is keep them out of the way off children tho
I'm thinking these would look really interesting with lights inside them... they'd be great to light a garden path at night.

Claude, I think they look really surprisingly great :) your idea with light seems to be v. nice, however I would be little bit afraid to place them close to the path
