Let me take you today for a little walk in Warsaw, where I have spotted flashy hollyhocks bed on Ciolka Street, in Wola District. Surprising view, right?
Wow!! How do they do it? Do you know any secrets about growing hollyhocks? I have had the worst luck. I've only got two scrawny white ones this year after planting so many. I don't know why, but I Just love them. The photos are beautiful.
Wonderful, these hollyhocks in a City! It is a typical cottage plant, I thought ;-) !! I wonder, who planted them, certainly a private person, don't you think so? Have a good week, Ewa!
The hollyhocks are so beautiful and do so well in the city. Such a great idea. I have also admired the balconies planted with I think Geraniums? How I would like them in my garden, the hollyhocks, but they always say no...no to my climate; no to my soil; I think they don't like me!
So beautiful! I tried to cultivate them once and slugs ate most of it. I was so frustrated I never bought seed again. And now looking at these photos I am thinking of buying it again next year!

Beautiful. What a lovely surprise in the middle of the city.

Victoria,
I have no idea how they do it :) I also wonder :) My garden is not very much liked by hollyhocks - no idea why :)
My garden is also unliked by hollyhocks. How nice they look in a big, sunny mass like this.
Oh my Ewa, those hollyhocks are gorgeous, flawless, healthy, and wonderfully upright.
I grew them in a previous garden years ago, and they were a sprawling mess of chewed-up fungus-infected foliage with gorgeous flowers.

Thank you so much for all the comments :)
Barbara,
Definately it is a private person who made it - effect is very surprising :)
Titania,
You are right, these are Geraniums at the balconies.
