Today’s photos show my completely subjective choice of best and most green designed pavilion at Floriade – Belgian Pavillion. Have a look and judge by yourself.
Looking at 500 photos I took last weekend at Floriade and thinking what to show you first, I’ve decided to share with you this uniquely designed pavilion with amazing green roof.
From April 5 through
October 7, the city of Venlo turned 163 acres of land into a garden and flower festival.
You can discover stunning
mosaics created out of flowers, attend educational activities - perfect place
to bring children with you. There is
also 5 themed worlds and more than 100 gardens and
pavilions with unique flowers and plants from around the world - lot’s of inspiration.
The expo is expected to attract 2 million visitors.
There was only one disappointing thing. Not like in other exhibition and festivals – there is not much to buy except some souvenirs, few plants, bulbs or garden accessories. I was expecting much more in that regard as Netherlands is the capital of plant trade in Europe.
Beside that it was one full day best spend.
Some more photos will follow in next posts.
I wish you a happy weekend!!!
Xoxo!
Ewa

Well that definitely puts my little green-roofed birdhouse to shame! Absolutely beautiful. It sounds like such a great exhibition!

Hi, Ewa, Good for you for getting yourself there and steeping yourself in new ideas! I'm always fascinated when folks decide to invent ways to rather live underground. More and more we will be seeing this sort of thing, though, to counter Global Warming. Thanks for spreading the word!
stunning pictures of human endeavor to live along with plant kingdom!!
Wow! I am amazed in this pavilion. It is simply stunning. The person who made this is a genius.Cool!
Thanks so much for this! This is exactly what I was looking for
My Blog : Garden furniture
There are people that very dedicated to their crafts. They give their full time and attention to it. I can't imagine how effort they give to have this kind landscape.
These are very impressive!
These are very beautiful pictures.. What an amazing scenery. Thanks for sharing!!
very beautifully..it's ...wow it's give me some idea for my garden after saw the image
Haha! I understand your disappointment, but if I had the chance to be there, I’d really be happy to take home some of their souvenirs. I mean, being able to go to the Belgian Pavilion and see their mesmerizing green roof and gardens is already so much of an accomplishment. I wouldn’t really ask for more. ^^ You are so fortunate to have that experience, Ewa. I wish I could too.

wow those photos are impressive! Kind of puts the garden shed to shame lol, perhaps when I finally move into my new house I can try to create something like that :)
Awesome green roof is AWESOME! I love the slightly curved roof concept. It made the pavilion look more interesting and extraordinary. I wonder what plants were grown in that wide roof garden and how long it took for the gardeners or the staff to grow them. Hmm. I hope they maintain the health of the roof garden. It’s just too amazing an attraction to get rid of!

If it’s your first time to look at pictures of green roofs, you probably won’t believe that are a lot of these wonderful artificial landscapes. Isn’t it amazing? I would love to visit Floriade one day. I wouldn’t want to miss the opportunity to see this awesome green roof building. Kudos to those people behind this very successful project!

Such beauty! No wonder this pavilion gathered as many as 2 million visitors. I’m sure this served as an inspiration to those who are eager to install green roofs in their homes. Ooh, I really hope they maintain the loveliness of the place and of the plants, of course.
